Best Make Up For Bride Looks

I've been interested in makeup for a long time, it's my passion, my hobby-not yet my profession, but I'm thinking about it!

I've learned quite a few things in my many discussions with makeup artist friends, and one friend who is a bridal makeup specialists taught me some invaluable tricks for bridal makeup, that also translate into great tricks for every day use too.

What Is The Best Make Up

My friend always goes on about how the foundation is the most important part of a bridal look, and she swears by airbrushing for the most flawless foundation make up for bride looks. She uses a Dinair I think, and I've watched her work with it, and its quite phenomenal to see the transformation that an airbrush can work. They cover perfectly, but actually don't look like there is makeup on. For every day use, an airbrush takes 20 minutes off the daily makeup routine (I love mine!) and is really long lasting.

Make up for bride looks need a lot more contouring than normal makeup, but the airbrush does that better than I've seen with a sponge or brush-really seamless contours that leave no lines or noticeable color changes, its really subtle and affective foundation.

Now my favorite trick is my friends lip technique. I have pretty thin lips, but when she does my lips, they look fuller and poutier. Here's how: so she does the base color of the lips as normal, but then takes a lip pencil or color one shade darker that the rest, and just colors the corners of the lips with that, blending it along, but mostly just concentrated on the corners-this really gives and illusion of depth and fullness to the lip.

Secondly she takes a pearlescent powder (like and eye shadow or highlight) and with her finger dabs a bit in the center of the lip, especially the bottom lip-amazingly this doesn't add color to the lip, but the light reflects off of the pearlescent shade and makes lips look pouty! It's a staple in her make up for bride routine.

Now eyes are the most variable part of a bridal look, and the style, color and application change with every different bride. One thing that my friend does no matter what style of makeup she is doing is the three 'key highlights'. Its similar in theory to the highlight on the lip-by placing a highlight in the inner corner of the eye, under the arch of the brow and right in the center of the top lid, it creates the illusion of fuller, brighter eyes. These highlights are also essential for make up for bride looks, because they catch the light in photographs and give dimension to them.

These are the three areas that my friend never neglects for any bride, no matter what other variations she wants for her look-they also translate really well to every day makeup looks, so why don't you try them out?

Check out additional tips and tricks by visiting one of my favorite sites Bride Makeup. You can also find out why Airbrush Wedding Makeup is quickly becoming the number one choice of wedding makeup artist experts.

Natural Home Remedies for Deep Cleansing Your Skin

Many facial blemishes such as spots, uneven tone and blackheads are caused by excess sebum and atmospheric building up on your skin and into your pores. Sebum is very necessary for healthy looking skin, it is the natural oil that your body produces to lubricate and protect, but if your body starts to produce excess sebum spots will soon follow. There are many commercial products to cleanse your face deeply but if you prefer to use natural home remedies for deep cleansing your skin the following facial is easy to carry out and very effective.

The procedure will take an hour or two so give yourself plenty of time. Deep cleaning should only be done once or twice each month, more frequent deep cleaning will encourage your body to produce more sebum.

Natural Home Cleansing Remedies

In brief the procedure is a three stage process; Open pores, Draw out and remove impurities from the skin, tone the skin to close pores

Open Pores. Some of the dirt and oil will be deep in the pores so you need to prepare your skin by opening the pores. The best way to do this is by steaming your face and although you can buy facial steamers you can do just as good a job with a bowl of hot water and a towel.

Pour very hot water into a bowl, put a towel over your head to let the steam build up and lower your head over the bowl. You can move your head further away if it is too hot or just allow the water to cool a little. You need to steam for about 5 minutes. Do make sure you have the bowl on a stable surface and take care this is near boiling water you should be using and you need to be aware of the risk of scalding.

You could add essential oils to the water to increase the cleansing further. Peppermint or Tea Tree work very well and will also kill bacteria. A gentler alternative is lavender oil. If you would also like to clear nasal congestion try adding a couple of drops of eucalyptus oil.

Drawing Impurities from the skin. Once the pores are open and perspiration has begun the process of flushing out the impurities you need to draw the oils out and absorb them so they are easily washed away.

Finely ground oatmeal and honey make the perfect mask for this job. Mix a cup full of oatmeal with enough honey to make a thick paste. Natural honey works best as it has stronger healing properties. If you can get Manuka honey you will make a very powerful spot treatment. Manuka honey is produced in New Zealand from bees that feed on the plants that produce Tea Tree oil. It is so powerful it has been used by doctors to fight infection.

Once you have made the paste gently massage over the skin and leave for about 15 minutes. The oatmeal will absorb oil and the honey promotes healing and will soothe inflamed skin, reducing any redness. Rinse the paste off with warm water. A few drops of the previously mentioned oils can be added to the mix if you wish to add further anti-bacterial properties.

Skin Toning The final step is to tone the skin to close the pores and prevent impurities from re-entering the pores. You could use a facial toner, but diluted apple cider vinegar works just as well. Gently wipe your skin with cotton wool dipped in whichever toner you use.

An hour or so after you have deeply cleansed your skin you should notice an improvement. Your skin will be fresh and clear and the occurrence of spots over the coming weeks should be greatly reduced.

Don't stop there. Once you have deep cleaned you will want to know how maintain the benefits, go to http://homeremediesspots.com for lots more natural and effective tips for maintaining clean healthy skin. I have gathered the very Best Natural Skin Treatments and give detailed information about how to use them.

Protecting Your Skin From The Sun's Rays

Broad spectrum UV radiation has been acknowledged as a human carcinogen by both the National Institutes of Health and the World Health Organization. UV wavebands are categorized by their wavelength. The two types of UV rays that reach the earth's surface are UVA and UVB. Both types of rays do damage to your skin, but in different ways.

How To Protect Your Child Skin From Winter

Characteristics of UVA Rays:

  • Accounts for up to 95% of the solar radiation that reaches the earth.
  • Have long wavelengths measuring roughly 320 to 400 nm.
  • Penetrates into the deeper layer of the skin.
  • Present year round, even in winter.
  • Goes through clouds as well as glass.
  • Is a major factor in skin aging and wrinkling.
  • May also cause the development of skin cancer.

Characteristics of UVB Rays:

  • Responsible for tanning, sunburn, and redness.
  • Wave lengths are within the middle range of UV - between 290 to 320 nm.
  • Mainly penetrates only the epidermis.
  • Varies with the seasons, geographic location and time of day.

A few decades ago, tanning with baby oil was popular. Most people did not know about or care to use sun screen. Today, people are aware of the damage the sun can do to your skin such as pre-mature aging and skin cancer. So how do you protect your skin from these sun rays and the damage they cause?

The best line of defense is to stay out of the sun when the UV rays are the strongest - during the hours of 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

However, it you are out during this or any time:

  • Protect yourself with a broad spectrum (UVA and UVB) sunscreen that has a SPF of 20 or higher.
  • Make sure to apply enough sun screen to all areas of your skin.
  • Apply sun screen at least 30 minutes before going out into the sun and re-apply every 2 hours.
  • Wear UV-blocking sun glasses to protect your eyes.
  • Stay in the shade when possible.
  • Wear protective clothing - ex. Wide brim hat, long sleeve shirt, UV rated clothing.
  • Keep your sun screen cool. A sun screen's effectiveness will lessen when left to get hot.

Don't just assume you are safe, because it is cloudy or you are in the water. UVA and UVB rays pass through clouds and water, and are just waiting to make you age before your time. Also, check your local UV index when you are planning a day outside. The UV index measures the amount of UV radiation reaching the earth. It is a number between 1 and 10 with 10 being the strongest. You can find your local UV index by visiting epa.gov/sunwise/uvindex.html.

Be sure to use a good UVA and UVB protective sunscreen. While a product's SPF is important, research has shown that protecting from both types of UV rays is just as important. Older sunscreens protected the skin from UVB rays, but as science has learned, it is the UVA rays which play a bigger role in the cause of skin cancer. Today's sun screens combine several different ingredients for UVA and UVB protection. Broad spectrum sun screens contain traditional UVB filters and newer UVA filters such as avobenzone (Parsol 1789). Although, avobenzone becomes unstable with exposure to sunlight, and therefore less effective, recent advances have solved this problem. Newer products now contain the trademarked names "Helioplex" and "Mexoryl SX". So look for products with these ingredients and have a safe, fun time in the sun!

Take Charge: Simplify Your Life

It is time for the "Simplification Overhaul" system when there is no time left to be who you are. Mary put it this way "I am one of those people who was busy and full of energy and doing so many different things. Although there were times I felt very stressed I kept going and doing until I collapsed. I had depleted my resources. I can see now that all the busyness kept me from paying attention to my own needs - now 20 years later I am finally living life my way".

The reason to simplify life is to create space for the things that matter. When you create space it is easier to get in touch with your values and what matters to you. Mary said it well when she explained that she no longer heard what she needed in order to nourish her mind, body, and soul. When we pursue a busy life style without listening to ourself that happens easily.

How To Simplyfy Your Life

Here are three steps to take that will begin to put you in charge of your life again.

1. What are you tolerating that bugs you?

That is where you want to start. If you are bothered by the clutter in your home think about how to unclutter. Will you do it by yourself, or need to enlist the help of the family in tackling this job or hire an organizer? Start where you are.

2. Make the task small enough so that you can see results.

Keep the big goal (based on your values) floating in your mind but take action in the present. A few years ago I learned about the "20 minute rule" for "stuff that needs to bed done". Into that category fall the tasks of cleaning out drawers, saying NO to certain requests, social events that you no longer enjoy. Ask yourself: are there things you are doing that really do not matter much - eliminate them.

3. Get back in touch with what you value.

Go to a quiet place and take along pencil and paper. Listen to yourself and identify your values, what gives you pleasure, your feelings and soul that you could not hear when you were so busy. You will see that you start to make different choices because being in touch with your values points you clearly into the direction that you want to go. You now have goal posts. As a result it is easier to say NO to things because you make decisions based on being centered within yourself.

All About Moisturizing for Organic Skin Care

This is often everyone's favorite part of their skin care regimen once they find the right moisturizer for their skin type. They key here is moisture and water - the more moisture and water you can lock into your skin the better; this includes internally - there is not much of a point in trying to moisturize your skin if your body does not have sufficient water on the inside. In other words, drink a ton of water! Your body is two thirds water and you need water internally to look moisturized externally. You will hear people talk to each other about their moisturizers if they find a great one. If you read our article about mature skin, you will see that dry skin often experiences premature aging and wrinkles because there is no moisture in the skin to keep it lubricated. This is one of the main reasons you want to use moisturizers, it will keep your skin lubricated and well help prevent wrinkles. A good moisturizer will also help to make your skin look soft, young, and supple.

Organic Skin Care In Winter

As we said earlier, finding a great moisturizer for your skin may be the hardest part to fulfilling the five commandments of skin care. This is because some people who have really dry skin need much more intense moisturizers than people who have oily skin. Also, your skin type may change with the seasons so you may want a summer lotion as well as a more intense winter lotion because skin naturally becomes more dry in winter months. Furthermore, older people often need more intensive moisturizers than young people do. If you have dry skin you may want to use heavy oil and cream based lotions while if you have greasy skin you want to use a non-greasy moisturizer. If you have acne prone skin you have to be really careful in picking a non-comedogenic and non-irritating moisturizer because the wrong lotion can break you out really bad, really fast.

You want to use skin care products with a good amount of moisturizing agents and humectants that will draw moisture into your skin and lock it in. People do not realize that ingredients like aloe vera, honey, jojoba oil, and vegetable glycerin are some of the best moisturizing agents you can add to your skin - not all the expensive unnecessary ingredients that "high end" companies add to their chemical laden lotions. For lotions and moisturizers, of all other skin care products, organic and all natural is better because it will not dry out your skin over your lifetime while using the products. Some chemical laden moisturizers trick your skin into thinking it works well on the front end and then as you use it over time it dries you out and leaves you susceptible to premature aging. You really want to make sure you stay away from mineral oils as well, which are not only drying to the skin over time but are also non-renewable resources and hurt our planet as well as your skin.

If you are using organic skin care or all natural skin care make sure your moisturizer has some essential oils made with herbs that cater to your skin type because unlike carrier oils, essential oils have a molecular structure that allows them to penetrate deeper into your skin. You can read the Giddy Organics articles on skin types to figure out which types of herbs are best for your particular type of skin. How often you moisturize is really up to your skin type. Some people need to moisturize numerous times a day while other people only need to moisturize once in the morning or once at night. On average you should apply a moisturizer before bed and then again in the morning before starting your day.

Fashion Rules for the Mature Woman Over 40

Colour Trends: Be on trend with this season's colours, avoid those which make the skin look sallow and are not compatible with skin tone and can be draining and aging such as pastel shades. Eye color is usually a good guide for what suits you. Choose bolder and more sophisticated shades like this season's Rococco Red, Snorkel Blue, Gold and Olive.

Underwear: Don't underestimate the importance of what you wear underneath your clothes. Without the correct fitting bra, your clothes will not hang properly. Get measured professionally. Most women in this country are wearing the wrong size bra.

Make Up For Women Over 40

Hair. A chic hairstyle is a must have. A classic bob style suits most women. Seek advice from a professional hair stylist. Look at highlights, low lights or a colour change. A professional hair cut can take years off you.

Invest in a regular manicure and pedicure. Not only will you feel good, but well manicured nails show you care about your appearance.

Chlorine-hair-shades-of-blonde-

Make-up. Throw away old make-up. Cosmetics should be replaced regularly and make-up brushes washed. Go for a more natural day time look. For an evening look concentrate on either eyes or lips not both. Vampish eyes and bright red lips is not a look for the over 40's.

Dresses': Nothing more sexier than a classic dress. Whether, you choose an A-line style, The Shift or a Maxi Dress. The A-line style dress is very flattering for almost any figure. This is because the waistline is raised above the natural waist and settles under the bust line. Fabulous for: shorter petite figures and those who carry a little weight around the waistline. The empire line style of this dress creates the illusion of length and skims the body, camouflaging wide hips and a thick waist. The Shift dress is a timeless classic and is one of the most versatile dress styles that has stood the test of time. It's tailored enough for business and sexy enough for evening wear. A sophisticated classic black shift is a must for every woman's wardrobe. The absolute LBD. The Maxi Dress: So versatile and flattering to most figures. Every woman should possess a maxi. It is stylish and on trend. Perfect for daytime or evening. A great holiday look. Choose a glamorous flat sandal to compliment the dress and of course a pedicure!

Handbags: choose a bag shape that is in contrast to your body type. Voluptuous or curvy women would do well to choose a rectangular, longer
shape, whereas a tall, willowy, slim figure would be better off going for a slouchy, rounded one. If size-zero celebrities can get away with wearing the latest styles in oversized hand bags then if you are slight and petite, so can you! If you want to flatter your waist then choose a bag that finishes around this part of your torso. If you want to draw attention to your bust, shoulders or neck then go for a short-handled bag or a clutch

Tops and Trousers: Choose a classic shirt or longer length tops that will make you look slimmer. Forget those tight tops where you assets are on show. Trousers: Look for fluid and feminine lines, select trousers that are cut to flatter, that give an elegant silhouette. If choosing linen make sure they are lined and are a linen cotton mix so will not crease as easily.

Finally: Walk tall, be proud and be confident in yourself. Enjoy being a woman.

"While clothes may not make the woman, they certainly have a strong effect on her self-confidence - which, I believe, does make the woman."
